Many girls dream of having curls, believing that caring for them comes down to regular washing and drying with a hairdryer. However, this is not at all the case. Curly hair is often nastier than straight hair. 3C hair type is one of the most unmanageable hair types ever! In this article, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about such hair type!
Hair is divided into four types and three types of curl shape (depending on how much your hair curls) - A, B, and C. The first type only applies to straight hair. For example, 2A is a light wave and thin hair. 2B is an S-shaped curl.
3C type means very curly coil-like hair. For example, Yara Shahidi has such locks. If you have this hair type and your hair is very dry, it's best to give up using the shampoo and only use a cleansing conditioner (co-washing isn’t forgotten still!). A common misconception that 3C hair type is very porous isn’t true. This hair type just requires a special haircare approach, like any curly hair.
If you have a 3C hair type, you should eliminate sulfate products as they dry out your curls and can become a cause of hair damage. It’s also recommended to avoid oils and silicones. After the shower, you should slightly dry your hair with a microfiber towel and wrap it up for a while in a turban. There should not be any rubbing movements - the curls can be easily damaged! Try keratin complex treatment or hair smoothing treatment if you want to make your hair silky!
