Listening is essential for a good consultation
The consultation process cannot be successful without good listening skills. Only if you get all the necessary information about your client’s desires and expectations, you will be able to provide him or her with an appropriate service.
At the very beginning of your conversation make sure that your client is comfortably seated and encourage him or her to talk by nodding and smiling. Try to be always at the same level as the client, so if it is possible, do not stand, but sit down next to them. Your consultation should be arranged in a calm place, especially if it deals with a beauty treatment that requires sharing some private information about hair or skin problems.
