According to Square Appointments data, reservations at the beauty and personal care businesses are above pre-pandemic levels at the moment, woohoo! This is great news for all beauty business owners who survived the pandemic. The percentage is up 81% from February 2020 to May 2021, and up 156% year-over-year as of May 2021.
Hiring which was a huge problem at the peak of the pandemic is also returning to keep up with demand; the number of employees paid per beauty and personal care business in April 2021 was up 34 percent year-over-year and up nearly 16 percent year-over-year in May 2021.
Besides, we can’t but mention that gross payment volume from beauty and personal care businesses has also improved, with a 121% year-over-year increase as of May 2021, and 25% from February 2020 to May 2021 - showcasing continued strength across the industry.
