If you decided to dye your hair at home, first of all, remember four “no” rules.
1. Don’t dye your hair after perming. You should wait at least 2 weeks in order not to ruin your hair. Who wants to have dead-hair ends?
2. Don’t dye your hair if your scalp is not OK (it’s itchy, there are scratches on it, etc).
3. Don’t add oils, balms, or other products to chemical hair dyes.
4. Don’t use ready-made hair dye several times, even the next day, even if you kept it in the fridge. Trust us, the result can be just horrible due to hair dye oxidization.
5. Before dyeing your hair, you have to find out not only the right color that suits you but also the type of hair dye you’d like to try. All hair dyes can be divided into four categories: blonde, physical, chemical, and natural.
Blonde hair dyes can lighten your hair in three or more tones. They destroy melanin - the natural pigment of the hair.
Chemical dyes change the hair color by the penetration of dye molecules into the hair.
Physical dyes include coloring tonics, foams, gels, masks. They create a thin film around each thin hair and don’t react with the hair pigment.
Henna, Basma, chamomile, walnut, onion peel, tea, coffee - these are dyes created by nature. They can‘t drastically change your hair color, as they can only slightly change your hair tone.
Don’t forget that if you do keratin hair straightening or botox hair straightening, these procedures should be performed either 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after hair dyeing!
