How do you manage curly hair?

Curly hair is attractive and eye-catching. If you are one of the many people with the curly hair, enjoy it and be proud of it!

At the same time, you are probably well-familiar with how challenging it is to style curly hair. This type of hair is unique in its structure and behavior so you will need to know some special tips to keep it healthy at all times. If you are struggling with too much frizz or cannot easily style your hair, here are a couple of tips that will save you.

Figure out the right length

Curly hair looks best of all when it is medium or long. Curly hair that is too short does not look good and is hard to style. Of course, this does not mean you should not experiment with length – just do it carefully.

Trim it frequently

Trim your hair at the right time (every six or seven weeks) to keep the perfect length. Remember that short curly hair is more likely to get frizzy. Do not go the hard way like Keri Russell once did cutting her curls and putting off the fans.

Avoid brushing

A brush is a no-no item for everyone with a curly hair. Brushing only creates more frizz and can severely damage your hair. Use a wide-toothed comb instead to carefully detangle the hair.

Also, wet curly hair is way easier (and healthier) to comb without damaging its strength. Avoid combing and never brush dry hair. Do use your fingers as oftentimes they do a better job of detangling curly hair.

Apply a deep conditioner

Unlike straight hair, curly hair has lots of protein. For this reason, curly hair is drier and is in need of more moisture to keep it healthy and strong. To enrich and moisturize the hair, use a deep conditioner.
